Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I do not know what hair to choose for my sew-in/extensions. Do you have any suggestions?
A. I will gladly help you determine which hair you should get during your consultation.
Q. Can we do a phone consultation?
A. Yes, for weave services we can do a phone, email, Facetime, or Skype consultation. Email consultations consist of you sending me pictures of your natural hair and style desired and we go from there.
Q. How much hair do I need?
A. One bundle of commercial hair is the equivalent of 4 ounces of premium hair. On Average you will need 1-2 bundles for an interblend or half head weave(4-8 oz), 2-3 bundles(8-12 oz) for a natural looking full or full head sew in weave, and 3-4 bundles (12-16 oz) or more for a very full install. Please keep in mind that when you are ordering virgin hair that is longer than 16 inches, you may need to order an additional bundle because the hair is sold per ounce. The longer the hair, the shorter the weft. The amount of hair needed for strand by strand extension services will be determined upon consultation.
Q. Are you experienced with Raw hair?
A. Yes, I am experienced in installing and maintaining virgin hair. I know that quality hair is an investment. I treat virgin with the same type of care I would use with your natural hair. I try to complete the install with doing as little damage to your wefts as possible. Many of my clients like to reuse the hair and I do my installs with that in mind
Q. Do you sew through the wefts?
A. I do not sew through the wefts as this will cause shedding, which in turn, causes tangling.
Q. Are you experienced with clients who have Alopecia/Hair loss?
A. Yes, I am a Certified Hair Loss and Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Specialist and I am experienced with a multitude of hair conditions. A consultation is key to determining the best options to give you the style you desire. There is a vast range of options for you to choose from.
Q. Do you only work with virgin hair?
A. No, but I recommend buying quality hair to really get the most out of your install. good quality hair can last six months to a year and you can get multiple installs out of the hair which would be a better investment. I do only work with Remy hair for strand by strand services.
Q. How long will I be in the salon?
A. My sew-ins normally take 3-4 hours, Closure and Frontal weaves takes 4-6 hours, and strand by strand extensions usually take 4-8 hours depending on the amount of hair being added.
Q. Will my install be cut and styled?
A. A razor cut and basic style is included with all weave and extension services
Q. Will I be able to pull my hair up in a ponytail?
A. Yes, my installations will allow you to pull your hair up in a natural and flat ponytail if you desire.
Q. What braid pattern do you use?
A. I use multiple braid patterns. The customized braid pattern I use is determined by clients’ hair length, head shape, density, and style desired. I make my base as flat as possible.
Q. Do you offer maintenance appointments?
A. Of course, proper maintenance and hair care is the key to maintaining healthy hair and ensuring the longevity of your install and hair.
Q. I have my own products, are you opposed to using them?
A. I only use professional products on my clients.
Q. When I get to the salon will I have to wait for a long time?
A. No, I do not double book. Your appointment is all yours.
Q. What products do you use?
A. Design Essentials, Joico, Pravana, Rusk, and Nairobi.
Q. How do I know what weave/extension technique is best for me and my hair?
A. The type of technique that will be utilized will be discussed and determined during your consultation. The technique chosen will be based on your hair type, hair condition, and desired results.
